| STEP 1. |
IMPORTANT - Block trailer wheels so
that the trailer CANNOT ROLL in either direction |
| STEP 2. |
IMPORTANT - Block up the front end
of the trailer by either hooking up to the truck or by using another "safe" method of
holding up the front of the trailer. You need to have the "Landing Legs" are free of any
load. |
| STEP 3. |
Remove the existing "Holding Pin" and
replace it with the "SNAPS" unit. Put on the back plate and install both bolts to a "snug" position. Tight enough to stay in place but still able to, by hand, rock back and forth. Repeat the process on the other leg. |
| STEP 4. |
With both “SNAPS” units in place, lower the load of your trailer on to the legs. You will notice that the legs will (and should) move slightly down on the brackets. With the load now completely back on the legs, tighten all 4 lock nuts, approximately ¼ of 1 turn from the snug position to the tight position. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN! |
| STEP 5. |
Now remove the load once again off your landing legs and check the operation of your "SNAPS". |
| STEP 6. |
You never need to lubricate this product. Just enjoy them……….. |

| |
| STEP 1. |
Position trailer leg in upright / vertical position. |
| STEP 2. |
Remove the original clip pin and insert the SNAPS spring loaded pin. |
| STEP 3. |
This step is very important: Place the “SNAPS” Leveling Wedge Block under the leg so that the “SNAPS” Pin is in “full load position”. Make sure that the pin is completely through the leg and that the face plate is up against the leg. |
| STEP 4. |
Tack-weld both ends of the face plate to the leg. Test operation of the SNAPS pin. (After a couple of legs you won’t have to test prior to complete welding) |
| STEP 5. |
Complete the weld on each end of the face plate and spray with zinc spray. |

| STEP 1. |
Install your wheel chocks to secure the trailer from movement. |
| STEP 2. |
Lower your 5th wheel LANDING GEAR LEGS so that the bottom of the “LEG SHOE” is approximately. 9 inches above the ground, thus avoiding having to extend the legs every time you go to park your 5th wheel trailer. |
| STEP 3. |
Place your new “WEDGE BLOCK” under the leg shoe with the thin portion of the “WEDGE” directly under the “SHOE”. |
| STEP 4. |
Pull your “SNAPS” pin, permitting the “SHOE” to drop onto the thin portion of the “WEDGE”. Then slide the “WEDGE” under the “SHOE” until the “SNAPS” pin snaps into position and the leg is solid to the ground. Repeat this process on the other leg. |
| STEP 5. |
At this point both “SNAPS” pins should be completely through both of the legs and both legs should be solid to the ground. You are now ready to run your jack motor and put the weight of the trailer to the ground in preparation for unhooking. |
| |
|
| NOTE: |
This process will put both legs to the ground simultaneously and prevent your coach from twisting in the set-up process. |
