“SNAPS”... That’s what Larry Ewert called his invention, a labor saving tool for parking his fifth-wheel trailer on long trips across the country. He invented “SNAPS” over 25 years ago after buying a brand new travel trailer. On the maiden voyage to Nashville, he parked the RV for the night and couldn't’t believe how long it took to crank the front jack supports down. He cranked for twenty minutes every night and every morning for weeks. So, on his return home he went straight to a machine shop and created a simple spring loaded tool which bolts or is welded directly on to the RV landing gear.
What he didn't see coming was the overwhelming demand for “SNAPS”. But once word of his invention got out in the RV community, it snowballed from there. After all, these people get around the country and they love to gab. The father of “SNAPS” had just stumbled smack-dab into the oldest marketing ploy around: Word of mouth.
We now market and sell “SNAPS” around the world and several fifth-wheel trailer manufacturers put them on their new units as standard equipment.
After the success of “SNAPS”, Larry answered the question of “What’s next?” with the invention of the LEVELING WEDGE BLOCKS which are relatively new. All of the responses from our test trial customers have been extremely positive and we are just about ready to bring them to the open market.
